Stacie’s passion for makeup began in elementary school.  A family member was a Makeup Artist and worked at “John Robert Powers” modeling school.  Stacie would visit from time to time returning with bags full of lip gloss and eye shadow.  This would begin her love affair with makeup art.

Stacie began working her magic on her Sisters and Cousins.  There was never a shortage of woman in her family and someone would always be the guinea pig.  On occasion Stacie would bring girls home from school and give them makeovers.

By age 17, Stacie was working at the only beauty supply in the small town she grew up in.  Once a month they would receive a makeup video with their order of “Trucco” cosmetics.  Stacie spent hours watching and following the Artist step by step.  Then she would practice what she had learned on the customers that came in.  Stacie quickly gained popularity in her small town to the point where people began to come in and ask for her by name.

At 22 years of age, Stacie landed her first professional role as a Makeup Artist, working for “MAC” cosmetics.  The Manager told her that she was the first employee hired without a professional background in makeup or a portfolio.  Stacie’s combination of skill, charm and a bit of luck was the key to landing the position. “MAC” took Stacie under their wings and helped her to polish her craft.  Stacie was lucky enough to be trained by some of the best Artists in the industry.  She was certified by MAC to provide Lessons, Print Work, Bridal and Runway services.

Stacie spent the next 10 years doing makeup professionally in a retail environment.  She worked at and coordinated countless in store makeup events.  Stacie then trained Artists for various top cosmetic companies.  Stacie was even offered a position as a National Makeup Artist.

All the while  Stacie was building her business as a Free Lance Artist on the side.   She worked doing makeup for weddings, events and fashion shows.  In 2004 she left the retail cosmetic industry and solely does makeup independently now.

“There is nothing like the feeling of creating something with your own two hands, then witnessing someone else relish in that creation.  I see beauty in every single woman. My focus is to enhance that which is already there.”

~Stacie Otis
